Ornitholidays has a great range of tours to the United States, and we have two that travel in the winter months. This tour to Arizona and New Mexico visits some excellent sites where there is a profusion of bird life in these warmer climes. The one name that springs to mind is the famous Bosque del Apache Reserve in the Rio Grande Valley. Here, in the winter months, almost 25,000 Snow Geese, with lesser numbers of Ross’s Geese, come to feed and roost. The spectacle of so many white birds in flight is blizzard-like and a treat for the photographer. Also, there are the Sandhill Cranes - again present in large numbers. We can also make visits to some beautiful desert scenery with tall Saguaro Cacti. Real cowboy country, with Roadrunners, hummingbirds, interesting owls and lots of sparrows! Join Richard for a tour, which will suit both the birders and the photographers amongst you, and take you away from the cold winter to the delights of geese and cranes in desert settings. Time will be spent making sure the photographers can take plenty of shots of the geese and cranes, as well as the desert scenery. This will be Ornitholidays sixth tour to this region in winter
